    . Booklet "When the law is tested by facts"

    13 actors, from the Norths ans the South express their views and reaffirm that law is not just for lawyers. Everywhere in the world, individuals and groups have claimed the law to enhance their autonomy and the life they aspire to lead.

    . A video documentary

    30 minutes - VHS format
    This documentary deals with the popular law-using practices initiated in countries of the South and the North. It gathers statements, experiences of populations or groups in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe, and practices considered as the most revealing.

    . Exhibition « Law, a value for exchange and solidarity between the North and the South »

    The exhibition is organized in 3 parts. The objectives are calling the attention of the public on the law, its nature and its function; to make them aware law actors; and then reveal how their interest or action join those of the law actors from Africa, Latin America or Asia.


    Thus, the first part of the exhibition aims at familiarizing and questioning the public on the meaning of preconceptions dealing with the law and its traditional representations, through some interactive instruments they are invited to manipulate.


    The second part aims at putting, during an animation, the public in situation of thinking to the settlement of given legal problems (format acting game). Then the actions and solutions proposed are discussed, and compared to those developed by actors of popular law-using practices in the South and the North.


    These practices are the subject of the third part which gives the examples of the booklet ?Let?s use our rights!?.

    The booklet offers ten examples of popular law-using practices in Africa (3), Latin America (2), Asia (1) and Europe (3), revealing people or groups capacity to use the law as a tool for autonomy and development. A crossed analysis of this practises and actors? statements show how this practises have the same implications and are tools for exchanges and solidarities between the North and the South.
